Describe the intended use
Tell the supplier whether the container is for packing, storage, distribution or retail presentation. Explain the product mix and handling sequence. A bin that looks familiar may have been designed for different conditions.
Identify the complete assembly
Ask about the container, bottom, pallet, any liner and closure as a system. Record which components are included and which your operation supplies. Keep the supplier’s assembly instructions with the specification.
Confirm the design before ordering
Give the supplier product, weight, handling and receiving information. Ask it to confirm the construction and the intended conditions of use. This fieldbook does not assign a load capacity from a shape or photograph.
